We are seeking a Field Biomedical Technician / Field Service Technician to join our team. This role is heavily travel-based (75–100%) and requires significant time on the road to support installations and service nationwide.
This opportunity is ideal for a biomedical technician with dialysis experience (heavily preferred) or anyone with medical device servicing experience who is looking to make a direct impact in patient care.
Key Responsibilities
The Field Service Technician (FST) plays a key role in delivering, installing, maintaining, and servicing Quanta’s dialysis systems across customer sites nationwide. This is a hands-on, field-based role ideal for someone who thrives on travel, problem-solving, and making a real difference in patients’ lives.
You'll be part of a supportive technical team working closely with Field Service Engineers, Clinical, Sales, Marketing, and Service teams — all aligned to create a seamless and reliable customer experience.
This opportunity is perfect for biomedical technicians/engineers who are looking to work for a fast-paced startup with frequent travel.
- Support field installations of dialysis systems, including device setup and basic configuration at customer sites
- Assist with pre-installation facility surveys to determine site readiness
- Perform routine preventive maintenance per manufacturer specifications and company procedures
- Conduct first-level diagnostics and escalate unresolved issues to Field Service Engineers
- Replace parts and components as directed by senior technical staff
- Maintain service documentation in compliance with company Quality Management System (QMS) requirements
- Manage assigned inventory of spare parts, tools, and consumables
- Ensure all tools and test equipment are functional, properly stored, and calibrated as required
- Support delivery and logistics of new equipment within the assigned territory
- Provide on-site support for customer questions and assist in training efforts when needed
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Clinical, Sales, and R&D to ensure a seamless customer experience
- Adhere to all health, safety, and regulatory standards in all field activities
Requirements/Qualifications
- 2+ years of relevant technical experience (e.g., field service, maintenance, mechanical/electrical repair)
- Experience within the dialysis space strongly preferred (biomedical technician etc.)
- Associate degree or technical certification preferred but not required
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to learn and apply new technical concepts
- Customer-facing experience and mentality required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfortable using service apps or ERP tools
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Able to lift up to 70 lbs and safely handle equipment and tools in field environments
- Willingness to travel nationally (75-100%), including frequent airplane travel & overnight stays
